The word "lekker" was first recorded in the year 1240 and has its origins in Middle Dutch. The word was initially derived from the Dutch word leckerheit which means gluttony but since the year 1350 it has been used for "tasty". It is also related to the word lecken (to lick with the tongue). Today the word is commonly used throughout South Africa and the Netherlands to refer to something that is nice, tasty or satisfying.

Die woord “lekker” is die eerste maal reeds in die jaar 1240 opgeteken en het sy herkoms in Middelnederlands. Die woord is aanvanklik afgelei van die die Nederlandse woord leckerheit wat gulsigheid beteken maar sedert die jaar 1350 is dit gebruik vir “smaaklik”. Dit hou ook verband met die woord lecken (om met die tong te lek). Vandag word die woord algemeen gebruik in Suid-Afrika en Nederland om te verwys na iets wat genotlik, smaaklik of aangenaam is.

Delivery in South Africa

Republk is committed to deliver all online-purchases within 2-5 workdays at your front door. Local delivery times depend on your location and if you are located in a main-center or rural areas. 

R75-R139 for orders under 5kg in volumetric size. The precise cost will be determined on your location.

R90 - R165 for orders above 5kg in volumetric size. The exact cost will be determined based on your location. 

International deliveries

All international deliveries are made by Fedex or UPS couriers and the courier cost depends upon the volumetric size. Your shipping cost will be quoted separately based on the country we are dispatching to and the size of your parcel. 

Please note: A local import-duty can be applicable depending on the country that you reside in.

You are like family to us! If your product arrives damaged we will exchange it. Please note the following conditions apply:

  • You let us know of any damages within 7 days of your purchase
  • The product is still in its original packaging
  • The product is in the same condition as you received it

If your product is undamaged but you changed your mind or if you need another size or colour - we will meet you halfway. You can send the product back to us on your account or ask us to assist you in arranging a courier. We will then deliver the new product to you on our cost. All other conditions remain the same - namely that you should please inform us within 7 days and that the item should still be in its original condition. 

If you wish to return a product for a refund you will have to return the product to Repubk on your own account. Once we have received the product and it is in the original condition you received it we will make a refund via EFT. 

For international order all exchanges are for the account of the client.
